If I could have a best foodie friend (BFF), it would be goat cheese. I’ve been known to eat it at every meal, scrambling it into my morning eggs, tossing a little in a chicken salad for lunch, or throwing some on top of an arugula pizza for dinner. I’ll never get tired of goat cheese. This is a friendship that has stood the test of time. Read more
This here’s a sophisticated take on the classic campfire recipe. A touch of chocolate in the graham cracker crust, hints of coffee in a rich ganache, all topped with toasted meringue. You won’t be disappointed, I promise…unless you simply can’t stand coffee or chocolate. In that case, I’ll just say you’re missing out and then direct you to take a look at the many other dessert recipes I’ve shared. Read more
My love for pizza has been well documented.
There was the goat cheese and roasted garlic pizza with arugula, this prosciutto and caramelized onion pizza, and a bacon and egg breakfast pizza. It’s kind of an unhealthy obsession, this eating well on a budget thing.
Sometimes I think I’m going a little overboard, calculating my running totals as I go through the grocery stores…finding myself totally ecstatic when I find some great deal on, I don’t know, oats…or stretching us through a day or two just to make it to the best day of the week to get the most deals. But today I’m thrilled to share with you a do-it-yourself recipe that is both functional and totally fabulous! One that you and your kids will absolutely adore, and that’s so simple to make! Read more
This whole thing’s my husband’s fault.
About 10 months ago Andrew talked me into starting a food blog so that I could tell the world about how I cook well on a budget. Have you ever been convinced by someone to do something, but then you were so glad you did it? Me too. I love connecting with people, including those I’ve never met, over food.
Except here’s the thing: I sorta still don’t get what I’m doing. Don’t tell anyone, please. Read more
This recipe was a grand experiment.

Over the weekend I had the privilege of hosting a baby shower brunch honoring my dear friend and college roommate Caitlin. Caitlin is planning on a tangerine and pink nursery (so adorable) for her baby girl Josslyn (oh the name!…even more adorable) so we wove those colors into the shower and it turned out so beautifully! I thought you might enjoy a few pics. Read more
